Since 13th November the stocks associated with wireless connection services (Atlantic Tele-Network, NTELOS Holdings Corp, QUALCOMM, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon) are worse than S&P500 by 3.86%.

Prices of AT&T and Verizon decreased during the last week due to overspending on airwaive lincenses. Investors are worried that the companies will finance their purchases by issuing new debt or equity, if the plans concerning dividends and CAPEX remain unchanged. Furthermore, Citigroup downgraded Verizon Communication to neutral. The decision was associated with higher costs and less optimistic forecasts concerning revenue due to intensified competition.

At the beginning of the month Qualcomm published disappointing financial results for 3rd quarter. Moreover, managers of Qualcomm are holding difficult discussions with Chinese authorities concerning antitrust investigation. Then next company which missed earnings expectations was Sprint Corporation.
